This farmhouse, originally facing onto Home Avenue, predates the subdivision of Van Ness Avenue. Dr. Walter and Emma Miller purchased the house in 1917. Emma Miller was for many years a lecturer in English at Fresno State College. In the 1950s the house was moved to the lot next door and turned to face Van Ness Avenue.
