H.P. #319
Rosenberg Brothers & Co. Building (1918)
1844 S. Cherry Avenue
Early 20th-century Commercial
In 1918 Rosenberg Brothers and Company constructed this 3-story packing and processing facility at 1844 S. Cherry Avenue in South Fresno. Constructed adjacent to the massive building was a two-story brick building which served as a boiler house and machine shop. The new complex was described as the largest raisin packing operation in the world at the time of its construction. It is one of the best remaining examples of a fruit packing facility in Fresno. The main building has been used for a variety of other purposes since the 1960s, most recently a self-storage facility.
